Where did you see this? Do you have a link? I thought the Volt's ICE was strictly there to charge the batteries. Though that would explain why they put in a 2.0L+ engine in there.

I've owned a Cruze Eco 6MT for 8 years now and 187000 miles. The DIC says 40.9 MPG over the last 19000 miles (mixed driving but almost no "city" stop and go stuff) but I consistently calculate 38-39 MPG when filling it up. In the life of the car I've never seen the calculation at fill up meet or beat the DIC figure.
