think about that one????
IIRC the Kia Rio is still available with a quite modern 1.1L turbodiesel in some countries more favorable to Diesel than America. Anyway, I'm just not sure if it would be so easy to promote it as a clean alternative after the Dieselgate, but it still seems to be a good idea. One of the reasons that lead me to support Diesel engines is their adaptability to run on alternative fuels such as biodiesel and straight vegetable oils (including waste cooking oils), and matching the thermal efficiency of a small, lightweight engine with an aerodynamically-enhanced design such as the Aptera, it seems like a smart move to overcome the doubts about the feasibility of a supply chain for those fuels.

Yes, the Rio is available in the UK with a small bore turbo petrol motor. There's a fair backlash against diesels here now on air quality and health grounds, don't think it'll be ling before some towns start banning them from some future date.

If they can in fact build and sell Apteras, then great. But the Jonway Group is pretty nebulous and has yet to demonstrate they could do this.

Socialist mayors in some cities such as Paris are already pushing for this move. Well, I think they're doing it wrong, at least for me it seems to be more reasonable to take advantage of their adaptability to cleaner fuels instead of pushing to ban them.
