I see the knockout stages are taking place in the next two weeks.
The hardest test there will be the City efficiency test: 16 mi and 48 stops in 44 minutes (22mph average), with at least 67mpge!
My car would breeze through the Highway test, and probably pass the Urban test, but I'd really struggle with the City test.

The X-Prize door opening (of the Aptera) was caused by a poorly located door latch switch (they are electronic). The older one was a much earlier vehicle, and we do not know the cause.
Yes, the main stuff is happening next week. Look for reports on these pages.

Well, I was rooting for Cornell's rebodied PHEV Subaru Sambar - it sounds like something I'd want to have as a daily driver. Sadly, they didn't pass the Shakedown stage in time and have been eliminated. Does anyone know which test they couldn't pass, or what exactly happened?

The K-Way MOTUS from Italy was also eliminated, apparently due to a problem with their ICE.
