Been there - done that

Went from $800. on a $1200. recumbent trike to $3000. on a $1200. trike to an additional $1000. for motorizing + about $1000. for Lexan; add a few maintenance costs... worked extremely well for 7 years- great 2003 project for me!

I saw this today and thought "here we go again 10 years later":

$1000 is pretty reasonable for a velomobile body. Looks a lot better than a DIY coroplast body.

That was Pod #2, sold in southern CA., 2004 or 2005, then resold and shipped to Oregon on about 2007. Same fiberglass and kevlar shell with a lexan windshield. I don't know if it still is in one piece. Mine (Pod #1) had a motor and was driven hard so it wore out in 7 years - but Pod #2 was only human power. Pod #1 is no more; it is now only in pieces.

Quite reminiscent of the Go-one 3 evo
