I know a guy who bought a flood car. It had silt everywhere. Anything that moves caused problems and died a horrible death. It was in the engine, tranny, diff, transfer case, blower motor, starter motor, water pump, etc, etc, etc. All bearings failed, hinges, etc, etc, etc. Anything and everything, window regulators, seat belt tensorner, etc.
Its like those foreclosed homes you read about people buying for a dollar. Thats all its worth as the home is basically a total loss.
If you got the time and money I am sure you can clean everything. Maybe it was cheap enough you can get it running and get enough use before it fails to break even or even come out ahead?

The hood release is on the far side of the glovebox?
Don't engineers think of these things? I wonder what salesmen say "This car also has the latest trend in hood, popping, a lever that is almost impossible to reach from the driver's seat!"

Sure they thought of it. It was mentioned that it's a hold-over from being a RHD car. They looked at it, the engineer guesstimated how much it would cost to move the lever to the otherside (or saw what would need to be re-engineered to make it work)... and the bean counter said, um, no.

I remember reading about some new car where the hood could only be opened in a shop. The article said that normal people do not have anything to do under the hood, yet I am pretty sure that I have opened mine every month.
I check my fluids.
What?

I open the hood of my car every time I drive it. This is how I plug the EBH.

Right, I did forget that the washer fluid is under the hood on this car and the Aux battery, but under normal use the Aux battery should last 10 years, but other then washer fluid and Aux battery, everything else that would need normal attention I think is under the back floor panel.
Ben, did it come with an owners manual?

Somehow I do not think that I would pop the hood nearly as often with an electric car...
Ryland, you mentioned washer fluid.
What else is there?
