If you don't want to buy a new, stock jack, I'd see if you could scrounge one up from a local scrapyard. I'm guessing VW has to have at least a somewhat universal jack.

Not very so with VWs... the threaded rod of the scissor jack that came with my S3 fouls the side skirt and so I use the one from the Ibiza, which remarkably fouls nothing.

yea, the stock jack was crap. i also have a dreaded third brake light leak on the hatch that contributed to its demise through rust.

Crazy... My stock scissor jack has no ill effects on my side skirts.
