youre already driving efficiently right?

now imagine getting nearly double the mpg youre getting now

without breaking the bank

to a high schooler, thats a boatload of freedom right there

If you arn't using the thing in 4x4 80 % of the time (I get around AK just fine with civic on winter tires and a set of chains in the back I never use) you are hauling around a lot more rig than you need.

I look back on when I was in high school and how much more I coulda done if I were feeding a little car rather than the truck I was driving, and gotten around just as well, and that was when gas was still about a buck a gallon.

Don't get me wrong though If you are often using the 4x4 to get off the beaten path (civics and the like handle dirt and gravel roads just fine so I am talking about 4x4 trails) then the rodeo may be serving you well. If you are mostly around town and on highways then a car would save you some cash.
