It makes the rate variable from 6-20 amps at both 120 and 240 volts.
Factory EVSE will only do 120 volts 11 (same say 12) amps.
Basically it will allow me to level 2 (or level 1) charge from anyplace that I can access 240 volts via plug adapters at up to 4.8 KW. Also enables super slow charge if I get stuck on some craptaular circuit. For me this is in addition to my home 50 amp (40 amp continuous) EVSE that my car can only use 27.5 amps of for 6.6 KW.

I had a SENIOR moment there ... the Banshee has a 0.15 sec delay (not 0.5 sec as I remembered) before the wail and flashing the headlights ...

Horns: Iirc, Buick Roadmasters, Electra 225's, etc,. from the last century, had a three trumpet horn that was loud, authoritarian, and effective.

I've been out of town driving the Sprinter getting 24.x mpg highway for the last week and I sure do miss the LEAF, so it has some bits waiting when I get home.
1) OEM LED headlights. I'm not 100% sure I can get these swapped in, but the wiring diagram indicates that I should just have to add 1 wire to factory harness from the LED headlight controller to the cluster for bulb failure warning, so let's hope that works out. If not they will go up for sale. I know saving 50 watts isn't super huge, but I'm not very happy with the halogen beam pattern so I'll give this a shot.
2) 3m Carbon Dinoc to cover smooth wheel covers. I'm working on a vinyl cutout to apply over the carbon look inspired by some I8 graphics I saw last year at SEMA.
3) Carcoal air filter. It's amazing what you smell when driving a zero emission car. I'm hoping this helps.
4) OE rear bumper load guard. Yeah, not exciting.
I won't be home for another week, so I will not be able to work on the LEAF until then.

Cool stuff! Can you get us comparison pics of the LED vs halogens?
Also, how much did those lights run you?

Will do. I still need to remember how to post pics on this forum though.
I paid just over $300 ($303??) shipped for the pair from a yard on car-part.com.

Here is a refresher:
http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...der-18279.html
IMO it is easiest to just upload them to the post (click manage attachments button), upload pics, then right click -> copy link address and throw that in the [ img] tags.

I paid ~$100 or LED bulbs that work great in the Leaf S headlights; replacing the stock halogens. I think on the stock LED units, only the low beams are LED?

I've run LED drop ins in the past and wasn't very happy with beam pattern, light output was stellar. That said, they are still in service.
Correct, factory is LED low beam only, if I want LED high beam I'll get drop in's since high beam pattern is very rarely an issue.
I got the car so cheap I figure if I drop $2,000 in it I'm still $5,000 ++ ahead.
