Calibration Math

I have been trying to calibrate guino, and have found a simple math solution.
Odometer=20 Guino=20.14
20.14-20=.14
.14/20=.007
.007x100=0.7% difference

If guino is high subtract 0.7% from vss pulse entry, if guino is low add.

Could be used for gallons as well.

Correct me if wrong.

Here's what I had in the wiki:
Mpguino calibration - EcoModder

EDIT: THIS IS WRONG, THE WIKI IS BEING UPDATED!!!
"A. navigate to the "VSS Pulses/Mile" screen (hint, left and right buttons will "tab" to the next field"). Take that value, divide it by the number of miles the guino said you traveled, then multiply by the number of miles on the odo. Adjust the value to this new value and hit OK."

In your example, lets say you had 8208 in the "VSS Pulses/Mile" screen.

the new "VSS Pulses/Mile" value would be (8208/20.14)*20.00 or 8151.

you want to increase "VSS Pulses/Mile" if the guino reading is high, so that it counts more pulses before registering a mile.

I might want to follow my own advice

It should be (8208/20.00)*20.14 or 8265. Lemme redo the wiki page...

In your example you said if guino is high to add, you subtracted.

Wouldn't you want to do this math if guino is high.

(8208/20)*20.14=8265

Or

.14/20=.007
.007x100=.7%
8208+.7%=8265 same as above.

Edit:caught mistake same time as you. So I think the easy way would be your math just make sure to divide vss by smaller of two readings. Correct?

On another note do these adjustments automatically reflect without resetting tank or current. That way showing the distance right then and there without having to drive a couple hundred miles to see the difference. And as a way to check math, like "212 on odo. and 212 on guino=sweet)

It's just this:

newVSSPulsesPerMile=vsspulsesPerMile*guinomiles/odomiles

edit it would reflect on the current tank screen, except mine hung after writing the eprom It might just be a onetime thing though (added a parameter to 7.3).

Went out and tried it 14.9 on odo. and guino. Thanks!!!!

Couldn't sleep good til I tried it out. My rate is 8440 as of right now, going to log more miles to see if it changes at all.
