You have to balance it out against the shortened coasting distance. If you're coming in to a stop anyway, go ahead and ride the fuel-cut. Neutral coasting will go farther, obviously, but still use fuel. Mine idles about .3 gph, so at 30 mph, you're at 100 mpg. Not bad. I primarily use EOC, though. I'll use neutral-coasting for a few seconds when traffic demands it, and rarely use fuel-cut. That means I misjudged my pulse rate 1/2 mile back.
