Call To Action! Please Help Save AZ Biodiesel

The City of Chandler Arizona has ordered AZ Biodiesel to cease operations because of zoning compliance issues and refuses to let them operate while these issues are worked out. AZ Biodiesel is a small company making WVO Biodiesel and can’t afford to be shut down while waiting for Chandler to complete this 3 to 6 month process. AZ Biodiesel has the full support of the city’s fire marshal and has been safely producing biodiesel for their own vehicles for three years at their current location. They are located in a light industrial zone and the city’s own fire marshal has stated there are over 50 other types of businesses allowed in that zone that are more dangerous than biodiesel. AZ Biodiesel is the only source of biodiesel made from waste oil in the Phoenix area and it would be a huge shame for the city to loose this valuable resource. Please encourage the City of Chandler to let AZ Biodiesel operate while this process is completed by emailing, calling, or faxing them at the address and phone numbers below.

Thanks for posting this up and thanks for the support! I'd really hate to see Arizona's only source of retail biodiesel made from Waste Veggie Oil go away.

Good luck. Environmental permits typically take anywhere from nine months to fourteen years. Biodiesel refineries look a lot like regular refineries to your average Joe. The EPA views then as the same. A small oil refinery was permitted last year in AZ. It took fourteen years from submission to issuance.

That's not the type of permit needed for brewing biodiesel, so luckily it's not that dire. LOL It seems the extra pressure put on the city is helping though they called AZ Biodiesel today to start working some things out. Keep on sending in those emails to keep the pressure on.

Yeah, this is pretty much a dead issue. Looks like they'll be moving. Hopefully they survive.
