I've heard of some cars that don't like specific brands of 02 sensors and will set a CEL and affect mileage with their use. If you could get an OEM sensor, that might solve the problem and get fuel mileage back where it should be. About a year ago the odometer in one of my cars stopped working, the problem was the worm gear that drives the odometer was made out of plastic and had broken. I pulled another worm gear from another speedometer, this time made out of nylon, replaced it and the problem was solved. What are the code numbers you're getting concerning the 02 sensor and VSS? Often if you can find a good forum on your specific brand car there will people who know them well and can offer great advice. Personally I've never owned a Honda so don't know any of the common problems or quirks. This too may help.
