Can you help me understand my "MPG vs gear" results ?

To me it's not that the issue. Diesel run always in lean burn.

I think @ that speed turbo runs to low and it doesn't have enough pressure, so the real crompression ratio it's lower, less efficient and the car need more diesel to give enough power and keep that velocity.
