yeah i think most toyota start out at abou 15 tps and 77-75 is wot

if u notice while coasting it will feel more held back, then at lower rpm (1000) it will free up when fuel kicks back in and coast faster( does that make sense?_

That makes a lot of sense. If I implemented a momentary version, I would use it for downhill in-gear driving because it would maintain power brakes. Essentially, I would do manually what you are getting for free.

Ok, call me a n00b but...

Daox, why is it better to shift into neutral and coast with a max of approx 200mpg rather than stay in gear and coast and let the fuel flow shut off for an effective mpg of 9999 or infinite? I'll admit that I've got very little knowledge but 9999mpg just seems better than 200mpg.

Does this come from less wear on the engine/transmission or is there something that I'm missing?

The numbers for my first fill up are coming, I just forgot to bring them with me today to get logged. Average mpg for this first tank was a between 39-40mpg.

Also, to Neil Blanchard who asked about my rpm/speed/mpg readings on the highway... I forgot to bring those with me today as well but from what I can recall over the weekend they were as follows:

55mph -> 2400-2500rpm -> 24-28tps -> 46-48mpg with occasional jumps to 50-52 and occasional drops to 35-40mpg depending on wind and terrain.

It is better to shift into neutral because you will coast much farther than having it in gear. The gas spent to idle is greatly outweighed by the farther distance you travel.
