The Chinese auto manufacturer Great Wall's EV brand ORA will offer an EV sedan maybe called Good Cat, with the most recognizable automotive design profile of the iconic Volkswagen Beetle. Chinese auto companies are notorious for blatant design plagiarism and the Great Wall Motors' ORA is using retro-themed design to showcase its newest EV sedan. Very reminiscent of VW's iconic Beetle profile, double-rounded retro profile in a four-door model, the sneak peek of the interior also uses retro-design features with heavy chrome details. Technical specifications are unknown but it could have similar capabilities of ORA's Euler sedan EV platform.
Volkswagen Beetle in a four-door configuration was the Type 18A model specifically made for the German and Austrian police departments. VW coach builder Hebmuller made them with canvas doors, some with metal doors and coach builder Rometsch made one for the taxi market.
The strongest comparison to the O[riginal] G[erman] Beetle would be the government it is built under. Otherwise it's a retro-New-Beetle.
I like the Good Cat design. It looks like a $20,000 Tesla. I'd add '57 Chevy ring sights to those hood bulges.

Rometsch got it right, the rear doors were suicided.

I remember the Great Wall copies of the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu Rodeo which used to be available in Uruguay. I have even seen some with the Isuzu Rodeo body and a front clip copied from the D22 Nissan Frontier.
