China appears to be a hot-bed for electric bicycles. I'm surprised this idea is not more popular there.

Perhaps the owner of a bicycle can bring it into the elevator (of their apartment building) and then 'park' it behind their couch while they are charging. The velomobile would require a parking space, which I understand are at quite a premium and generally are not wired for charging?

You are on to my secret! I have a 3-wheel Chinese built electric scooter I had 5+ years (only 1 battery change @ 4 years). I drive in the elevator to my 2nd floor condo and park it (LeMans style-diagonal) to charge.

My velomobile was 9' long, so I just dismantled it. Too long for the elevator and too wide for the door.
