Civic flatbed 40 mpg daily driver
1 Attachment(s)
Here is my daily driver truck, 88 civic lx changed to a flatbed.
Weight down by about 500 lbs. Mpg up to 40. http://ecomodder.com/forum/attachmen...3&d=1348108485 |
holy crap. whiskey tango foxtrot over!!!
|
Pretty cool. What do you use it for?
|
Everything!
I haul full sheets of plywood, windows, tablesaw, cement, helpers.
At five hundred pounds lighter it comes right up to 90 mph and is still eager for more! The body is real wood with pine shiplap put together with mahogany pegs. It is a real head turner. In fact, I often come out to see my civruck surrounded by girls all taking photos of my woody. Thanks for your most entheuastic reply to my post. You are very positive and this encourages me. Rarely, IMO, are girls in inclined to take a snapshot of a nice woody.
|
"if you build it, they will come" Epic Wood!! :chuckles:
But seriously, if i had a beater i'd be doing this as well. Anyone ever see the PT cruiser truck? Your particular car doesn't look too Rain freindly?! any plans to make it rain friendly? How is handling, any oversteer? 500lbs is ALOT of weight to reduce from the rear |

Do you have any photos of it mid build? wondering what parts of the unibody you left.
|
pictures would be really neat, i would like to see the civic taken apart.
|
Haha holly crap is it less than a ton? I saw a civic just like yours with a Nissan truck bed and it had a turbo charged b18 in it on Craigslist. I was calling it an el civino
