close to template production cars

i keep a look out for aero looking cars where the roof lines match the template pattern and that in general look slippery. i know this could be wrong but i have seen a few that have to have a low cd.

i spotted this audi and had to stop and stare for a minute i think this is as close as i have seen so far.

also like the 5 door civic in europe i love the hatch and crx rear window glass the side could have a more defined line in my opinion though. anyone else have any comments of production vehicles that are close to template beside the prius insight etc.

Yeah, they are.

Do you have the equivalent of a "tirerack.com" in Europe? I ask because you can sometimes get ideal side views of contemporary cars off those websites.

Just so nobody stumbles in here and thinks the Prius and A7 Audi are "Close to Template Production Cars".

Here are some Template Cars:

Hyudai I40, essentially a Elantra Wagon.

Renault Megane Wagon

Mercedes Benz B Series

Older Ford Focus ZX2

Here are cars which DO NOT fit the template

Audi A7

Toyota Prius

The green focus pictured has a .32 Cd,* while the B class Mercedes has a .24 !

Amazing how different the drag figures can be despite having an almost identical shape !

* I saw some literature on this car when it first came out which listed the hatchback Cd at .36 . I remember this well because i was shocked at how bad it was despite looking 'right' from all the angles. The rest of the figures that I have seen are a more believable .32.
