Conservation of momentum at its best (citroen AX diesel content)!

A fellow has managed to get an AX diesel round the Nurburgring in 9m 55 sec...

Astonishing! and a good example of how to conserve momentum (if a bit extreme)

Been hearing about this one all week. That is an absolutely amazing time for a car with such little power.

Absolutely committed over the curbs. That's not something you would (or could) do in a heavier, stiffer road-going sports car. Fitting that he's got a Gran Turismo sticker. Only in Gran Turismo would I have the guts to drive like that on the Nurb!

Favorite part is 9:12, through my favorite part of the track, where he finally catches and re-overtakes the Nissan sitting in the dust.

Its the way that plainly faster cars cant pull away from him in the corners that is most impressive.

Very little braking going on (some trail to bring the rear end back in) mainly understeering to scrub speed, but maintain engine revs.

That's a given. You have something as stiff as (what looks like) a Renaultsport or a Nissan Z, and there's no way you can bang the curbs that hard without risking an expensive accident... (an expensive accident that aforementioned Z had at 9:12) ...Wonderful driving... some squirrelly moments, but generally smooth and perfectly judged for the level of grip the car had.

Funnily enough, I'm going to re-fitting stock suspension to the Clio 172 tomorrow, so its easier to drive over backroads
