Cool wheel cover idea.

I was browsing around instructables today and I found an idea for smooth wheel covers I though it was pretty cool and wanted to pass it along for the rest of you to see the guy uses shirts around wheel cover and then resins them here is the link to them ( I am not the author of this or anything. Just thought it was a neat idea)

 Going to have to explain that not sure what you mean? Sorry I'm a n00b

Anyway I like the idea since personally I don't like the stock wheel covers I much prefer plain steelies or better yet alloys I was just going to get rid of the covers on my car but I think I might try this out instead.

I am glad that you found that. He actually started a thread here: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...ers-18495.html

How much it would cost to make fiberglass covers vs the fuel you will save from the increase mpg. Some people just want bragging rights and spend a lot to get just a few mpg while others do whats the most worthwhile to get the best return.

I like steelies too. I paint them nice and black, then get some chrome acorn lug nuts and chrome trim rings.

....... has to pop off the covers to check tire pressure?

Exactly it's sooooo much better that the cheap plastic with "chrome" paint.

Payoff should be pretty quick the resin is like $10 and another $10 for acetone for all four wheels and if you have all the other stuff that's about it assuming you use the stock wheel covers

Well, running to Goodwill for half-price t-shirts should not set you back too much.

I am glad that my HX came with the stock alloy rims, although it makes crafting wheel covers more complicated.

In this case you can buy simple cotton fabric. It wil cost even less. Here i would pay 2€ for 1x1.4 meter.
