Since it's % over EPA and not raw MPG numbers, I think it would make more sense to say "driver of corvette z06 wins mpg marathon," since, really, he could've ecodriven a milk truck to 6mpg and made 60% over epa,
I drive past a sad-looking C5 every day. If it has the 6 speed, I consider it with a 3.2 liter Benz dieselcirca 2004) engine as a great practical MPG machine.

I've always wanted a vette, but gave up that idea when I decided that I liked being able to fit all my vehicles in the garage and the same time. This makes me want an old vette to convert to electric!

There is a c4 vette with a 6.5 diesel getting 30 on the highway, but it's a C4 and a 6.5, so the numbers aren't really impressive. A c5 with a duramax or cummins would be awe inspiring.
