Added another mile of estimated EV range today!
The higher the EV range gets, the longer it takes to see another mile added

After my 19 mile one way commute last night it showed 66 miles of EV range still available. I ended up matching my previous lowest kWh usage on the 38 mile commute at 6.6 kWh, I forgot to see how many estimated miles were left after the 38 miles driven though

Great job sir,
And to think you didn’t like the Volt until you got it home.
It’s too bad more folks didn’t get a Volt, it’s a very underrated platform

Added a couple of more miles to the estimated EV range this week. That's 25 miles above the out of the box 53 miles of estimated range for a G2 Volt
The G2 Volt is by far the easiest (and nicest) car to hypermile that I've ever driven!

My son and I were heading to the Ford dealership at lunch today to pick up my wife's Explorer and *bam* out of the blue the Volt lost power. It also lost the power steering, brakes, etc . . . so I wrestled it off the road into a conveniently placed driveway and had to sit there for a while until it got over it. It wouldn't shut off, it would only play the radio and put the windows up and down.
Not cool since it could have happened on the highway at rush hour, which would have most likely caused a pile-up (not that I ever take the highway)
It threw on the check engine light and gave me an "Action Required - shift to park" notification and when I searched forums this afternoon there were multiple issues that could have caused it. Guess I'll find out in a few days, it's on its way to the Chevy dealership to see what's up

I don't know if they did anything for a recall but I did just have the oil changed a month or two ago.
I'm sure if they didn't then they are now!
