[CRXMPG FAQ] SuperMID Contact information

Just got this today:

Quote:
I am wondering how I can purchase or who I can talk to to get this device you installed in your vehicle. I have a 1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS, Fuel Injected 4 cyclinder, 2.0 L. I do not know if it has a mechanical or electronic VSS.
Thanks for the question. You'll want to talk to a guy named yoshi, who currently makes them. I think he has a few for sale. I'll actually send him and email right now to get him to come on here and field some of the the questions himself. Thanks again,
Benjamin

To everyone else wondering, I think the latest word is that he has a few MIDs left and is still working on the US MPG version. In due time!

Hi all,
Thank you for your interest in my SuperMID Mileage Computer.

I have been receiving a lot of questions about the SuperMID, so I would like to make this thread to inform everybody understand it.
I would like to update this post as much as possible to tell the latest information.
(Maybe, it is poor today. )

* original Japanese site

An English page is coming soon?

* installation

The interface cable color codes are...
+12V: red
GND: brown
INJ: white
VSS: purple

* operation
- MENU operations including how to set fuel and distance parameters at the bottom.
http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/1...menueng7of.jpg

You have six buttons.
On the right, they are...
from the top
- MENU
- UP
- DOWN
- ENTER

On the left, you have one button.
It is same as DOWN button and it's good for change display channels.

On the back, you have another button.
It is forced reset switch.
It shoud be used for emergency purpose only, such as SuperMID display nothing when power on.
Please note that your mileage record is saved when you do the power off.
For example, you drove some distance and you had some data, then you pushed the forced reset button, you'll see old date which was on the previous power-off ceremony.
Your data, from power-on to some drive, is gone by pushing the foreced reset button (without power-off ceremony).

* FAQ
  • Q: Does SuperMID work on my vehicle?
    A: It works with a vehicle which has an electric fuel injection system and digital VSS(vehicle speed sensor). Please refer to following post.
    http://www.gassavers.org/showpost.ph...4&postcount=14

  • Q: Where can I find the installation tips?
    A: http://www.crxmpg.com/supermid.html
    http://www3.telus.net/metro/mid.htm

  • Q: When the US MPG or UK Imperial MPG unit version is available instead of Japanese km/L unit?
    A: I'm not sure. It won't come at least by March 2008, I'll update here when anything happened. The average speed unit is also km/h only now.

  • Q: Does it have backlit capability?
    A: Yes. It has backlit, and it always lights even in daytime, no switch.

  • Q: Do you have stock for sale?
    A: I have three Japanese km/L version as of November 27, 2007.

  • Q: How much is it?
    A: It costs US$165.00 including shipping from Japan.

  • Q: Does the PayPal work for payment?
    A: Yes, it does.

Got another question recently:

Quote:
Saw your write ups and posts about the supermid and im interested in purhasing one. Have a couple of questions, will the supermid help me anymore than a dmm to obtain increased fe. I know that driving habits are a big part of it, just wondering if the increased info will be that big of benefit. Does the unit come with installation instructions as to which wire on the vx ill have to attach to. thanks in advance
First off, thanks for the question. The dmm will you give you instantaneous feedback on your o2 reading, but it won't track your mileage or compare things involving speed or anything else like that.

I think the best solution is to go ahead and get the MID if you're really interested in getting good mileage.

Thanks again,
Benjamin

Is there a contact list for making sure that you're the first to know when US mpg version is released?

No such luck finding a SuperMID anywhere, I guess there is no demand for them!
