It does well MPG-wise to-and-from college on the highway (or so the kid tells me) but it's never run on anything but dino diesel. I dream about running a conventional diesel vs Propel DieselHPR (Neste's renewable diesel) test (MPGs, Dyno & Smog). But we're in NJ and Neste only sells their stuff in CA.

Fix the 12 valve.

I say fix the 12V. I have a few engines I really like. The 6BT, the T444E, and the Toyota A blocks (Half the cars in my garage have a 4A block with the F head) are near the top of that list.
