Can dashcommand record data?

I'm intrigued. I'd investigate getting this setup and using the 10" tablet we got gifted for our anniversary. For right now I have UG and am highly satisfied, but you never know when things might change...

Does it store information, or does its memory only last for the current session? That and glitchy bluetooth were major bad points when I was using Torque.

It stores information. The only problem that I have run into was getting a trip's data, but I can look at my daily statistics to see how well I did that day. I haven't experienced any glitchy bluetooth things with this app, but did with Torque.

It stores information pretty well, and I can see my lifetime costs and gallons used and MPG, as well as max torque (glitchy ATM, saying I have 335+ lol) and max HP (seems reasonable at 125), max gallons per hour (10.5, which is reasonable), max acceleration (I think I got 1.2Gs, not sure though), max braking (again, 1.2Gs), avg fuel flow (around 0.5), avg speed with and w/out idle, etc.

Really quite amazing, and there are probably much more features that I can't unlock with the automatic including the "you should shift now" stuff.

I went ahead and ordered a bluetooth dongle and bought dashcommand. Certainly worth it! It's pretty neat having instantaneous feedback on mpg and performance data. I set up a main page of gauges that I usually have up while driving; on that page is instant mpg, tank average mpg, and vacuum. On the next page I've got intake air temp. o2 sensor voltage, coolant temp, MAP, and torque. I want to find a program I can put on my laptop to log information from the ecu that I can review later, especially while I'm fine tuning my commute to a new job site.
A word of caution on picking a suitable dongle... the first one I bought was ~$10 and worked for 2 separate drives. The first drive was a test to see how it functioned, then the second drive was for diagnostics on a mpg issue in my girlfriend's car while driving to the store for a mounting bracket. After leaving the store, all the dashboard warning lights came on and the gauges went to zero. I unplugged the dongle and restarted the car and it was fine. When I got home I tried again and the dongle would power on but not communicate with the ECU. I returned it and picked one that was ~$20 and its functioned perfectly.
And for the curious, the culprit of the poor mpg in my gf's car was a lazy o2 sensor.

By the way, in my case, the problem with Torque starting up so slow was that it would scan for the protocol. In the Pro version, you can select a profile for your car and set the protocol (9141 for most Hondas) in the app, and it will connect in a few seconds, rather than like a minute.

TouchScan is better. I've tried Dashcommand, torque, and a few others.

It will record the data & you can export to a CSV file. You can add custom PID's, (data which is not included in the default set). If I recall correctly dashcommand did neither. The developer responded to my questions and fixed a bug. No response from Torque developer for a bug.

Ah, I see. I'm not familiar with DashCommand, but are you sure that the bug that you reported wasn't fixed in a later Torque release?

I'm in no means a Torque apologist, by the way, I haven't used it in over a year, just curious as to what the benefits of TouchScan are over DashCommand and Torque.
