Has anyone built a chopper controller with Regen seen they where used years ago I have two DC motors that look like they could move a truck going to plug into dc generator and see if they work

I have not seen a Separately Excited (sepex) controller built by anyone posted here. As far as I understand, you would need to reverse the polarity of the field coil to do Regen with DC.

There are sepex controllers available to buy commercially, of course. The motor(s) need(s) to be turning at a minimum speed to generate power. I have not seen any data posted on what those speeds may be, or if they are simply a percentage of rated motor speed
