The US is already blessed with some of the cheapest at the pump gas prices. Canadians typically pay X 1.5-to-2 more for gas, and our EU friends from across the pond pay X 2-to-3 more for gas.

Next step is a tax on farts...you know to reduce GHG emissions & help climate change, due to the cheeseburger diet

I can say this much, if they do tax DEF to the same level as fuel there will be a large illegal market for the stuff. It isn't anything special. DEF labs will pop up in various out of the way places and designer DEF will be sold via secret hand signs and hidden in large Monster Energy Drink containers.

Some truckers in my country were ruining the cores of the SCR systems using urine instead of the standard DEF, due to residual amounts of uric acid and sodium chloride.
