Determining Frontal Area

I saw the sticky for frontal areas of a list of cars. It seems like a common formula is to multiply width and height, then apply a factor of 0.84 (I've also seen 0.81 quoted). I'm just wondering how accurate this estimate is for typical passenger cars. I'm trying to find the frontal area of my 2015 Subaru WRX.

Edit: I think I answered my own question with the following image. I calculated a frontal area of ~85% of the car's Width x Height.

After only ten minutes you could have just deleted the thread.

Since it stands, the result is probably close enough. The pitfall working off photographs is the foreshortening you get with short focal length lenses. To be accurate, the picture would have the rear wheels hidden behind the fronts.

frontal area

When I get to run things ,they'll be posted on every new car placard, along with Cd and the R-R coefficient for the tires.
In the meantime,I want to sell you a house, and I'm not gonna tell you the square-footage,or whether or not it has any insulation in it.
