Minority Report pods are here!

They were Lexus brand in the movie, but MB got their new pods in Vegas. MR designer Alex McDowell put their sci-fi model on a the Mag-Lev system. The interior was minimalist. It was voice activated and displayed on video or holographic screens. MB is not too far and may even have more advanced features!

The future looks awesome.
( too bad i won't be able to afford it, and will just have to watch it all.)

Just today I was looking in a car magazine that tested the latest Tesla, as well as the best muscle car Detroit has to offer - the Charger Hellcat ( 707 horsepower and 205 mph top speed )

I was shocked* to see the quarter mile times on both cars : they were exactly the same.

The electric future is finally here ( thumbs up )

* ... actually that pun was unintentional

It sure will be fun putting around in my 50 year old Sentra at 91 when all of the rest of the cars are automated.

I can see how that insurance rates will go up for us poor folk driving our old cars.

As I've mentioned before, since the poor won't be able to afford the new technologies, the only people dying in car accidents in the future will be the poor people.

Will the only DUIs be poor people, too?

I am not trying to antagonize anyone or start an argument, I just feel very strongly that DUIs should never happen.

Maybe not own it but people could have access to them ala app-based service; Uber, Lyft or Sidecar. Especially after an over-indulgent night at the bar.

It costs me over $75 just in taxi fare to get to a location and back that i can get to by car for $3 in gas, or by bus for a dollar.

I would hope an app-based service like you described would be cheaper !

Same with airbags, ABS, ESP etc. Now nearly all of us have them.
