Hybrid motors worth consideration for swaps

The 2019 prius awd e has an electric motor in the rear that is mechanically separated from the front engine and motor.

Honda has used their electric motor sandwiched between the engine and trans for years.

I'm new to this thought but what other electric motor are out there and really, which ones could be ran independently on their own with ease?

Many! In-wheel motors in EVs like hub motors, and some hybrid systems like Toyota's THS-II use independent rear electric motors.

it seems to be the biggest problem is having a stand alone system controller capable of the voltage for one of these swaps.

GM had one built directly into the transmission They should have did it with a Diesel Engine 😭 DIRTY MAX hybrid..

The actual problem is three fold: battery capacity and space for it, motor power and a contoller that can push the required watts. The controller is the easiest of very difficult issues.

Charging doesn't even make the list.

GM and Hyundai/Kia did "altermotors" for a while, before developing full hybrids. They bolt in place of the alternator, and are capable of sending some small amount of power back through the belt to assist the engine. Best I can tell, they're just a 3 phase motor also.

ZF does it for AMTs fitted to trucks and buses, and more recently also applying such tech to conventional automatic transmissions for light-duty vehicles, both as a 48V mild-hybrid approach and as a full-hybrid.

since it's a body on frame it would seem to be easier to remove the body and attach the other cars body to the frame you will have a V8 engine though but

with the mass weight reduction easily be 50 mpg with 0-60 times in the 4.5-5 second range
