I have found out from another forum that the 14x5.5" stock rims (5x100) from the 1990 Chrysler Imperial and New Yorker (fwd) are alloys painted black and only weigh 11 lbs! The after market rims on the 95 Neon that I drag race are 12.5 so I will be getting me a few, media blast them, polish them and use them later this year!
I thought that I would share this knowledge with you guys since lt wt rims also help mpgs.
This car helped me end up 3rd in the United Manual Transmission Racers series, is only street driven to all of the races while EVERY one else tows, and gets a best of 46 mpg at 55-60! I race in the SS class and there is no cut off on how fast we are. You can go to the link and go back and forth to see who/what I race against. Since my cars are all street driven and only use pump gas the decals are on magnetic material and removed for street driving.

In 2010 I used a 335 hp Dodge Neon SRT4 to end up 2nd in pts....it ran 12.17 at 117 best and regularly gets 33 mpg at 55-60.

Because the 95 Neon has 4 drs, AC and is more comfortable I sold the White Gnat 96 Geo that got 60 mpg. The wife refused to ride in the "clown" car but doesn't mind the Neon.
