I'm not in love with the Focus, and if a screaming deal came up on an Insight/Civic/Fit/Corolla etc., I might think about it but for now I think I just need to squeeze what I can from the Focus and keep looking for closer employment.
Honda hybrid Great on gas 60mpg much see

Notice the "OBO" - how good a deal are you looking for?

Any recommendations? I like audio books and need to look into getting some more. Podcasts are a great idea as well and I'll look on iTunes to see what's available but it's always fun to try what others recommend especially if I wouldn't normally pick.

Yes it's listed as "OBO" but that is still money I don't have to spend right now on a car that is only good for getting me to work. The gas savings won't cancel out the purchase price for a long time and I hope to have a better job before then. It's just not worth it for me for buy a new car for the sake of the commute. With some aero improvements hopefully I can break 40mpg consistently and alleviate some of the gas bill burden on us.

Time to start making some wheel covers, skirts, pans, dams and kam...

Another way would be to find someone to carpool with. Quick way to double your mileage, and give someone some pointers on hypermiling. (Perhaps not practical for you on this route ... just a thought.)

I've been having fun with Amazon Prime music. It'll recommend playlists and I can download them for the car, then I can download more of an artist that strikes me. What they have available in Prime is pretty spotty, that's fine if you're just exploring. A couple or three albums of someone isn't their full collection, but it sure lets you know if you want to listen to anything else they did.

Just make sure that you stay away from the playlists that it recommends because of your 9 year old daughter's listening. Muzien.
