Dual Chamber Tire Idea

In discussions of using "super single" tires on big rigs in place of duallies, people point out that a puncture would require the truck to stop until the tire is replaced.

Then there are run flat tires that are capable of being driven on with no pressure.

I'm wondering if it would be feasible/beneficial to have a dual(or more) chamber tire that could still be driven on if the other chamber goes flat. It would require tubes, or a redesign of both the wheel and tire. Perhaps at that point we're just better off running dualies, or putting goop in the tires.

It would be neat if there was dual purpose goop that not only sealed punctures, but also provided dynamic balancing. Then it could offset some of the weight penalty.

Are you thinking of low-sidewall tires with side-by-side tubes? The run-flat tires I've seen had concentric inner and outer tubes.

The ultimate run-flat wheel:

bgr.com:NASA’s new titanium tires can never get a flat

It says titanium because that cool, but it's really a nickel-titanium alloy “shape memory alloy”.

Tire Balls range from $109.95 to $199.95 for each kit purchased, depending on tire size and application.
*Note: One Tire Ball kit is equivalent to one complete wheel or tire.
$200 for a motorcycle up to $800 for a rock crawler? How do you check the inflation without dismounting the tire? How do you even mount the tire with pre-inflated Tire Balls inserted?
