One insulates the ceiling
more because of the convection of air inside the house, but the walls and floor are still very important to keep in balance because there are more forms of heat transmission happening in the house than just convection. The ground below tends to be warmer than outside so there is a smaller ΔT but you'll still lose heat in that direction. The envelope of any heated or cooled structure is as good as its weak points. What happens if you install radiant heat and you don't insulate below the floor? Will it work as well?
