I agree. Perhaps someone can share some light on figures one might come to expect from certain % increases in drag reduction.

I was thinking of this the first time around I wanted to do something. It'll be a nice 'summary' of everything. I do like the deeper knowledge too... it back's up the summary, so I'd like to keep going with them.

You are welcome to send a sketch, I'll try my best at tracing it and then offering it here.

OK, I'll try to find a little time to draw one up.

No rush... You see how long it took me to just get to those pics...

*edit: AFAIK it seems that a drag reduction of (say) 10% roughly equates to a fuel reduction about half that (5%), but I can remember where it's stated and I've also not really scratched into any of the formulas.

I guess my vision for the infographic(s) is to be a good intro that gradually leads towards the more fanatical. It seems the longer one is on this site, the more fanatical one becomes

Lowering the tailgate on a pick-up truck increases drag, rather than lowering it.

@ euromodder: Check again, it's stated as such ('-' is the penalty here). It's a copy of a diagram I found in the threads here - not sure which book it comes from.

*I see it sticks over just a little to the positive side, but only slightly... I'll fix that in the program (comes from a line thickness setting).

You're right - the diagram is about drag reduction , so a negative reduction, is an increase .

My bad
