this country boy moved to the Kokkola city (population 47 723, not so big though)

i live 2 kilometres from the city center

my job is a tiny bit closer now. (15 km instead of 23)

I've considered getting a moped for in-city driving and zipping to work when warm, would be more efficient and cheaper in the long run

but isn't it still basically countryside when there are fields under 6km from the city center?

I have never lived in any city with such a small population.

Do it. BTW wouldn't a 125cc motorcycle eventually serve you better than a moped? Well, unless you can get some JDM Honda Super Cub which is still likely to be enough if you intend to ride it in-city only.

probably, but here in finland you need a separate license for a over 50cc, which is a light motorbike and over 22Kw are heavy bikes, which also require a license it's almost 1000 bucks

What about electric scooters?

"I want to save the world. I am going to ride the smallest and most economical thing I can."
"That will be $1,000."

2009 Yamaha Raider classic bike - $1000

HERE WE HAVE A VERY COLLECTABLE YAMAHA RAIDER. Seriously the coolest bike out there. Super clean and in excellent condition - never tracked, wheelied, or dropped. Registered till March 2018. I bought the bike new in 2009.

Is this scooter decent? It seems like the scooter itself costs less in Arizona costs less than the license to ride it in Finland.

Sometimes I wish I could ride a 50cc with my standard car driving license here in the Republic of Bananas, even though 125cc would be better (it is legal to ride some 125cc motorcycles with a car driving license in Portugal and Spain, even though there is a power restriction). Anyway, I still believe a JDM Honda Super Cub is likely to be the best option for you.
