ok here is the story
last fall my father and i bought three GE elec-traks from a mower salvage place, with the plan of making at least one good one. all of the batterys we have for them were DOA. so we have been trying to justify the purchase of the 6 new 6 volts but at around a $1000, i don't think it is going to happen.
as we very seldom actually mow. and allready have an electric push mower and a gas tractor. for the 3 or 4 gallons of gas saved i think the money would be better spent on modding the car.

i had thoughts of using a motor and controller to run my sailboat, or an electric motorcycle build but if someone wants to bring these back to life. that would be a better use.


we have an e-8m with the mid mount deck,

and two e-12s with one front mount mower deck between them.

fair condition. generally sound. some pieces missing but they seem to be mostly in tact, no idea on the electronics as we have never hooked up battery's.

surface rust and a little cancer in the battery boxes. but otherwise structurally sound. i do not know what they are worth $300 each?

They don't have a lot of value if they are not working, but the mower decks seem to be the valuable part and they give the tractors value.
If they have stock speed controller boards then there is a good chance that they don't work as is and will need a modern speed controller, if they have that then it's more like $600 worth of batteries but you can sub in 3 12v car batteries to test them.
They are powerful little tractors even tho they are the size of a ridding lawn mower.
