Yes. Plug in lipo battery in the trunk to run all your electrics including PS, AC etc for a couple of hours then have a 200a alternator with a clutch to kick in when you run down the battery. Also engage the clutch every time you press the brake pedal while in gear.

Hi, I have fitted the remote clutch to the fan on the Landcruiser and at the same time fitted the quieter assymetrical blade and although I cant see any difference in power on the Butt Dyno, I must be saving something and I can now here the tappets rattling. Alternator clutch sounds good but there must be a way to hook it up so as it is engaged not only when you put your foot on the brake but also when you take your foot off the accelerator and the car is on a certain incline and speed so the clutch knows you are coasting down a hill. I believe Honda used the drag of alternators to slow down a car at sometime in the past. Total cost to make my clutch was about $60 and that included a new belt and a couple of sets of bearings. Steve

I think it could work good on a power steering pump. You only need it at low speeds...
