'Ello!

Hey all you ecomodders!

I've been a member of cleanMPG for a few months and I've been attracted to hypermiling, but hypermiling will only take you so far if you're looking for those really high numbers, and that's where ecomodding comes in. I'm what you would call a poor college student. My current car is an 89' Camry that's rated for 23/29 under the old epa and I get about 30mpg in town with lots of short trips that don't allow me to get the engine really warm, and 40-45mpg on the interstate with 65 to 50 pulse and glides. I don't have time right now to get into a big modding project, but this car seems like a great guinea pig to mod the crap out of once I get a nice chunk of time. Hopefully I can learn a lot from you guys before diving into a project! I look forward to your posts!

Welcome to EM! The nice thing about not modding all at once is that you can do lots of master planning, picking and choosing from the best. Since USA fleet MPG peaked in 1987 (I'm pretty sure that's right), I keep thinking cars of that era were more "aero minded" by design than today.

Hello Nice to see more Toyota's here (I swear I'm really a Toyota guy driving a VW until Toyota can straighten it's self out)

I head it (Fleet economy) peaked in 1989, Don't know . . .

Grill block it for a start.
