Enclosed monoposto body

I finally located a piece of data, germane to something freebeard had addressed: the aerodynamic impact of enclosing an open-wheeled car.
In addition to the Mercedes-Benz data we already had, Rezvani Motors, Irvine, California, USA, published, in 2016, that their Rezvani 'Beast', enclosed carbon-fiber- body for the Ariel Atom, reduced drag, from Cd 0.65 to Cd 0.35.
The body does add 300-pounds ( about 136- Kg ).

I don't contest the point. I just want to know how to optimize an open-wheel car. It appears to be that Aptera's claim is the placing and contour of the pantaloon fenders is optimal.

I just moved the wheels outward and forward in my rat rod design.

Needs pants. Torsion bars in airfoil sections, not the Ariel's bare A-arms.

Aptera

I presume that, as an X-Prize contestant, that they'd be in a position to know.
Sylph would be another example to look at. She was designed by aeronautical engineer, Matt van Leeuwen. Cd around 0.11 @ Cal Tech's GALCIT tunnel in model form.

I'd like to help the lurkers, but duckduckgo.com/?q=Sylph+Matt+van+Leeuwen finds makeup artists and Facespook pages. duckduckgo.com/?q=Sylph+GALCIT finds the Guggenheim Aeronautical Laboratory.

If I GOOGLE: Sylph by Matt van Leeuwen, it takes me, first up, to a thread here at EcoModder

I really resent Google having it's hooks in Ecomodder. They become unavoidable.

As a test I tried Web Crawler: https://www.webcrawler.com/serp?qc=w...tt+van+Leeuwen.

Their second result: https://www.freeenergyplanet.biz/micro-hydro/rotor.html

I'm curious about the front axle. It looks like an airfoiled beam axle.

front axle

I may also be a composite leaf-spring. Don't remember off hand.
