Engine heater for Ford 5.4L V8

This year of Michigan's Winter turn to be real colder than we had in past.

Right now it impact huge on mileage in my 1999 Ford Expedition. Summer it was 16 in city traffic and 19-20 HWY. Winter 14-15 city and 15 HWY but Strict highway 17-20

Biggest problem that it get about 6 miles of highway at 60 mph to bring up 190oF. It doesn't have fan I removed that last month cause it was forever to get up 190oF but I saw 1.5 mpg increase and power. My scangauge were show 11-12 instant mpg until it got up 190oF then it was 15-20 instant mpg.

I would like to add heater on engine but I'm not sure which one is best for $ and doesn't suck power. What watts would I need since this one hold 32 coolant quarts I believed

well my little 4 cylinder runs 400 watts so i would say you should have at least 800. more wouldnt hurt. my uncle just got a heater for his 6.0 powerstroke i think he said his was 1200watts and installed into the lower hose. alot easier than taking a freeze plug out.
