Here is the starting and ignition wiring diagram from the Paseo. You might want to download it so you can view it better. As you can see, there are two wires that route back to the ECU. You'd have to manually disconnect the power to them which in my case means bypassing the clutch and ignition switch. I'd imagine your setup is somewhat similar.
