Smile My New Chapter. 6.2 liters of it.

Hello all!

I have been away for quite a while. Lots and lots of changes, so many things have shifted. I think I have even had a couple cars since I have been active. I'm still hoping for a mobile version or mobile friendly setup. . .

But on to the newest edition to the family.

Full Gallery on Imgur: https://imgur.com/gallery/Uc6hA9C (I don't know why, but everyone downvotes my posts on Imgur. Lol, okie dokie!)

My first tank didn't show me much, as I don't believe it was actually a full tank. It looked like 7/8ths at best from the dealership. Indicated 22 MPG for miles driven based on a full tank. I should have my new garage entry up shortly.

Soon I will be adding a HUD, heated seats, kill switch, and vehicle monitoring. I am waiting on the Scan Guage until I get the HUD 100%. I've put out feelers for a C6 front end to start working on the lower grille block, and airdamn/splitter. As purpose built as she is, the underbody needs [aerodynamic] work. During the inspection I was talking to myself, and they couldn't figure out what I was saying. . . The underbody is perfect from new, but a mess for smoothness.

This vehicle will be a challenge. Not only do I need to keep her beautiful, but there are 6.2 liters of gas guzzler under the hood. No start stop, no cylinder deactivation, nothing fancy- just big 'ol American muscle. This'll be fun

My biggest question now, is. . . Where do I put the Ecomodder sticker?!

I'd resent your purchase, but you got the wrong color, so it's ok.

I'm just waiting for the right one to pop up myself.

Enjoy!

Unless you're waiting for an Atomic/Inferno Orange, I'll have to disagree. In my personal taste, yellow and red are too brash. Greys and silvers are as dull as it was to write this sentence. Black I was on board with (original choice), but I am not a fan of how the headlamps look. White. . . Perfect.

What are you looking for in yours?

I read through the thread! So he didn't let you test out any modifications?! Lol. Right now I am just enjoying it and getting a solid baseline. I do pretty well normal driving, then an on ramp, then just driving in 2nd or 3rd for the burble. . . I drive within the legal limits, but I do have fun doing it!

Don't get me wrong, the car is fantastic. But this is definitely a mix between performance and the age group that can afford it. So yes, near 440 horsepower, very light, and built for the racetrack. But it's also surprisingly comfortable, and whisper quiet. I have the stock performance exhaust, and it is near silent. Even in the loud mode (which it is always in now lol), it isn't very loud at all. The Mustang was SO MUCH LOUDER. The Insight is louder from road noise, my Cayenne was almost as quiet, and it is neck and neck with my parents MKZ. If one wanted max legal road performance, there are other ways to go to get a better bang for your buck.

As for cost, I'm sure you're not directly asking me what I paid.

If you want just any old Vette, they range from $3800 to $289000. 12000+ options

I had to have a C6 (2005-2013). Specifically AFTER 2008, for the LS3. 1100+ options starting at $16000, non wrecked, up past $150000.

I only drive manuals, and I wanted the coupe (has a removal hardtop). $16500 to $85000, of the 400+ options.

Now, I'm a bit of a snob so I wanted hands free and launch control (lol, like I'll ever use it) which is 2010+. I also wanted the HUD and heated seats, but I can have that added to factory specifications for $1000, so I kept that in mind with my searching. That left me here, before working on color and condition.

I wanted a forum car, but had equity in my Cayenne and I wanted to put into the Vette, so I had to look at dealers until it sold. Spent a lot of time driving, and saw a lot of garbage that was photographed "well" but eventually found the perfect car. 27,000 miles, all my requirements, PERFECT condition. The average age of previous owners was 62. Right car, right pricing, and that was that. They are very attainable, especially seeing as the average new car price is ~$34000.

Make a recording and play it in the Insight!

What kind of fuel economy does the $300,000 version get?
