Even Sony may be making electric cars!
All they really announced is that it will have tons of technological features: https://www.theverge.com/2020/1/6/21...ement-ces-2020

Good luck with that. It would be harder for them to introduce it to the market. Their phones are not that popular. They didn't succeed in that area.

Sony makes phones?
They can get game publishers to include their car. If people enjoy playing it in-game, they may want to buy it.
Not everyone who plays games is a kid.
I know that some silly people would buy anything with an Apple logo, so I wouldn't be surprised if the first fully-autonomous car was an iCar--specifically designed for taking selfies and recording vlogs while it drives you safer than you would (at least while playing on your iPhone).
When I wanted a larger monitor and realized that I could get a Samsung 43" 4k television for the same price as other brands I immediately bought one and am quite happy with it. We also have a Samsung refrigerator and washer and dryer, although I did not buy that.
As long as the car is better than the phone, brand loyalty may lead to car sales.

Looks like a tesla.
If they want to get in to the car market, they should get gliders from an auto manufacturer, and electrify/electronicfy them...at least until they prove if it's a viable business for them.

It is made by Magna-Steyr in Austria, which also builds the I-Pace for Jaguar.
The name is a dud. It should have been the Sony Driveman.

I thought it was only a showcase until you mentioned the Magna-Steyr connection. That changes everything.

I'm having a problem finding a thread for this. Okay if I drop it here?

All right, I have no idea what that organization was. I wrote something pretending that I knew what exactly RedDevil and He Whose Name Must Never be Capitalized were talking about and asking him to explain, because I do not have time, because my progress reports are due today.
I really need to finish those!
Then apply to grad school!
Eh. I thought that I would do a which Google search and write a sentence or two for those of us that don't know, although I think that RedDevil told us all that we need to know.

They call it a four-door coupe. Not this again!
They also said that Sony trolled me. Mods! Please change the title!

[They built a whole working prototype to advertise the gadgets]

I always think of the Steyr-Puch Haflinger

The VISION-S prototype is the embodiment, in a four-door electric vehicle, of the key themes in Sony’s approach to the future of mobility, such as the deep sense of reliability and safety provided by the evolution of sensing technology, the new value proposition entertainment can bring to mobile spaces, and the constant evolution a platform can undergo through next-generation connectivity.
|
"Value proposition"--yeah, only for the manufacturers, who can charge hundreds of dollars more for a car by putting a few extra apps in the "infotainment" system.
