Failed emissions -92 MX-3 GS

A week ago poor Princess failed emission with the following results(limit in parenthesis):
  • CO 2.1(0.5)%
  • CO2500 0.6(0.3)%
  • HC 235(100)ppm
  • Lambda 0.98(0.97-1.03) (Passed, but listed for reference)

A while back the ignition module failed on me, and while diagnosing there was a lot of starting. So i suspect that the oil is flooded gas soaked, i'll be changing that soon, and also checking ignition timing, since it may have shifted when i disassembled the distributor.

There is another symptom also: When hot she hesitates on low revs, but runs fine otherwise. I hope it's nothing more expensive like lambda probes or MAF sensor.

I'd also like to know if anyone has had problems from EOC:ing too much, like 70% of their distance.

How old is your MAF sensor? It might need to be replaced also did you have the spark plugs replaced? Try cleaning the MAF remove the MAF and Clean it with electronics cleaning spray let completely dry before installing.
