Fastest on Ice: electric car E-RA with Nokian Hakkapeliitta 7s + TuneCovers ;)
Hi,
I am glad to inform you that E-RA was able to reach 252.09 km/h average speed on ice. I also gave the team few aerodynamic advices and supported TuneCovers for the run. Enjoy!.

That is awesome. Hakka 7's are the new favorite of Chang Ho Kim, for his winter SCAA racing. He's the fellow who had the 118MPG Honda CF-X.
The air is pretty dense at -4C, right? The Tunecovers look great!

Just my own stupidity, but did anyone notice the nurburgring outline at 1:05? You don't put that until you've actually been around the ring. An electric car on that track, I would love to see the lap they put down.

(Nice covers , too)
Does that mean you now have a share in a world record ?

If you like to think it that way. Drag dropped from 0.311 to range 0.28 in CFD calculations and there was not the TuneCovers even on in the simulation.
I think they got best speeds in the morning, ice started to melt after midday and that caused grip broblems at those speeds.
There was 280 kW engine power available so next winter that speed will be bettered. This winter the ice situation was not good and they had to postpone that testing over one month later. During days the temperatures are on the plus side so ice starts to melt...

Those are the startup points. After that there came diffusor, smooth undertray, light covers, Moved front bumbers corners so they covered wheels better and few other minor tweaks to angle of attack etc.

Some more videos of the ERA on finnish TV: You have to watch the first commercials I think...
Teknari - Katsomo - Ohjelmat - Teknari
Tune in to 8.20 and then again to 16.40 to see Finnish electric raceabout test on finnish TV. I like it a lot.

Wheels covers looking really nice Vekke. Good idea getting free PR on projects like that.
