Fiat Punto 2 (mk2) tape mod.

Hi!

I made a grille block test over 6 months, and today with 25°c / 77°F.
Conditions: Highway, city, traffic jam
Temperature is still the same as without tape, even with cabin heater off.

For the grille, the air can only go in through the hole under the license plate now.

So you can use this configuration safely.

This one has the 1.2 L 8 valves engine, manual transmission, no air conditioning.

I forgot to talk about this. I didn't an accurate test when I taped the car. I need to find a good place to run the test. I' ll post the results as soon as it's done.

(NOOOOOOOOO! I don't want to remove all the taaaaape. )

My last result is 4.3495 L/100km (54.08 MPG), on a 947km total distance mostly highway at 90km/h sometimes 110km/h with about 30 km of city driving.
But there were less tape in the front et on the left wheel well. I added a bit more in the front just today and add-back some tape on the left wheel (the previous tape was starting to going off so I removed nearly all the tape)

I' m wondering how air temperature affect the quantity of injected fuel on that car.

There are many members more qualified to address your question, but I presume that the cars computer will have an internal look-up menu for every conceivable meteorological combination the car might encounter and adjust the EFI according to the mass airflow sensor signal.
