Flushing a Radiator w/o Garden Hose

Depending on whomever you talk to, it's either said that water from a garden hose is either safe or corrosive to an aluminum block due to the sediments that come from municipal water. So whenever it comes to flushing and filling the cooling system, I've often felt that I was either rolling the dice by doing one thing, or being neglectful without doing the other.

With that in mind, I may have discovered a way to flush as well as back flush the cooling system with distilled water, without the use of the water pressure which would otherwise come my garden hose.

It's a drill powered water pump, which can empty a 5 gallon bucket in under minute. I've been planning on flushing and filling my cooling system since late fall, whereas I will be adding this little gadget to the list. I think that I will make a trip to Harbor Freight & get back to everyone.

I flush with a hose and oftentimes use the radiator flush chemicals. I fill with 50/50 coolant and distilled water.

I buy straight coolant (as opposed to gay coolant) and distilled water in gallon jugs from a -Mart or grocery store; the water is reasonably cheap and I also use it for other stuff like topping up batteries.

If You are buying a drill pump buy a metal one if possible, I bought a Plastic one for draining water from a boats floor via a drilled hole , it lasted for a few uses/jobs then failed.
