Flywheel P&G

Green Car Congress: NASA Glenn develops automated flywheel pulse-and-glide system; improving fuel economy up to 40-100%

I've been trying to promote this for years. High efficiency capacitive energy storage does not require a lot of storage capacity to increase efficiency significantly.

A friend of mine was brainstorming ideas for energy storage in a bicycle and thought of a flywheel, but I hadn't thought of using one to even out speed during P&G. You could also 'spin up' the flywheel using grid electricity before you leave I bet.
