The fin IS something Ford remarked upon. They say it is from the original designer sketch and that the car has remarkable crosswind stability.
Probably also helps 'locate' the back of the car when backing.
I left the vestigial prow on Viking for the same reason.

I imagine the front skirts are similar to the Probe IV. I'm not sure this picture has been posted on here before.

Frank,I started to look at that and then realized that the wheels are not included in the image. We'd have to guestimate their position.
And if the nose drops and tail rises as with the Probe-IV,we'll have to noodle that in too.A good project!

They may have maintained the girth to fit the radiator and condenser coil inside the quarter panels as in Probe-IV.

To my astigmatic eyeballs the Probe seems manifestly non-template. The backlight slopes at a more or less costant 18 deg. with a slight upkick in slope at the very tail. (see Morelli)

I wasn't planning on posting it yet, but I just scanned a 1992 Ford Probe brochure (matching the Anal Probe) and will post some high res pics for comparison. You'd be surprised how much actually made it to production.

The production rear glass maintains attached flow.

Let me know if you want the 300dpi version

Unfortunately I think I missed a page (turquoise GL rear end) when scanning- D'oh! Will do tomorrow.

Sharpen the corners at the the rear ( it needs a sharp cut-off to cleanly break attached flow), finish the rear wheel skirts, move the radiator to the rear and have its air flow out into the "dead" zone, as on P-5. (Radiator move will greatly improve F-R balance) Fill the seams, flush the glass, round the front to the center of the existing bumper, eliminate the grill (radiator move) and it does look like you may be well on your way to something special. BTW... I, DO applaud your work! The gray car has way too much "rice racer" in places, for MPG's, the windshield looks interesting though!
